Call for Proposals

In Situ Polyculture is OPEN and that means we are thrilled to discover more artists and communities whom we can collaborate with and support through retreats, residencies, workshops, and events. Send us a proposal!

Email us at hello@insitupolyculture.org if…

• you (or an artist, writer or activist you know) could benefit from a creative retreat in SE Vermont. Solo or two-person residencies are welcome, and we encourage group residency proposals for up to 5 people. Dog-friendly accommodations may be possible, it depends on the dog!

• you have an idea for a community offering that requires some space to gather, exhibit, present or share, and In Situ seems like a lovely place to do it (it is!)

• you have a class or workshop proposal to run on-site at In Situ’s private campus, or in collaboration with us and one of our partner venues

• you represent a venue in our region or elsewhere that wants to partner and collaborate with In Situ to host artists and creators and their creations

• something else?

Our infrastructure is still in development, but we have a beautiful place with a lot of ideas and energy to put to use. As of Spring 2024, our amenities  include;
• a fully-resourced community kitchen

• two comfortable, private yurts for live/work, writing, or yoga (sleep 1-2 people)

• ample tenting space in our 10 acres of meadow and woodland

• a guest bathroom with shower and laundry

• 2,000 sq ft art studio barn with both communal & private workspaces

• 10 acres of meadow and forest (which are surrounded by additional forest with old logging roads and trails to explore)

• 1.25 miles up the hill from lovely Saxtons River village in Southern Vermont

• 10 minute drive from charming Bellows Falls, where there is an Amtrak station, and only 30 minutes from Brattleboro, VT

Current arts organization partners include…

• Epsilon Spires in Brattleboro, VT

• The Ruth Stone House in Goshen, VT

• Main Street Arts in Saxtons River, VT

• Flat Iron Cooperative Cafe in Bellows Falls, VT

• more soon!

We look forward to hearing about your ideas and seeking meaningful ways to collaborate!
