2025 Collaborators Residency Open Call

In 2025, creative collaborators can apply for a group residency retreat on the Hartley Hill commons in Westminster, VT. Between 2-6 artists can live and work on-site at a time; 2-3 if the collaborators require or prefer private accommodations, and up to 6 if those in the group enjoy shared accommodations or tent-camping.

*Retreats for groups of 10-12 are available if off-site housing is utilized with one of our partner inns, or for local artists who live nearby and choose not to stay on campus. If you plan to apply for a larger group, please contact us in advance at hello@insitupolyculture.org.

Creative cohorts apply with a single application— names and emails for all collaborators will be requested, but please designate a lead “applicant” to compile and submit your application as Applicant #1.

Application requirements:
• Up to 10 images / videos / links / files of your work (please supply no fewer than 5)
• a statement of interest for the residency
• an artist statement & professional bio
• any websites or links to professional portfolios
• 2 references (not letters, just names and contact)
• optional CV

There is no fee to apply.

Residency fees are on a sliding-scale, with 3 suggested rates (per person per day). We will always work with artists to make residencies accessible— it is our goal to invest in artists and resource artists!

Suggested fees are:

$100+ daily for those who wish to invest in opportunities for other artists,
$50-$60 daily for those who can afford a reasonable rate, and
$15-25 daily subsidized for those in economic need.

Our residency fees go towards our artist stipend and scholarship funds, mutual aid investment in other art and ecology organizations, and to cover programming costs. **Applications are decided upon based on merit and alignment with our mission, economic need does not “count against” an applicant.
